1. You will be absolutely terrified at first
You'll go to your first house, and it'll be absolutely silent as you wait outside. If you're anything like me, you'll have no idea what's going on. All of a sudden, a hundred girls will start screaming from inside the house, and you'll wonder what you've just gotten yourself into.
2. Don't stress about what you wear
Yes, you should look nice. But don't freak yourself out just because you don't have the perfect pair of shoes to go with your romper. Dress for yourself, in something you feel confident in.
3. Don't talk about the houses
Don't tell the girl in front of you in line how much you liked/disliked the house you were just at. She could have loved that house, but now that you've said how much you hated it, she's rethinking her decision. Everyone deserves the chance to make their own decision on where they end up. Besides, you wouldn't want someone else influencing your decision either.
4. It is the one of the most exhausting things you will ever do
Mentally, physically, and emotionally. Your brain will be tired from saying the same thing over, and over. You'll have a script memorized including your name, major, why you chose to rush, and what you did over the summer. You'll be able to spit it out on demand after open house. You won't need to go to the gym after walking to all of those houses, either. Rushing is a serious workout. You'll probably be sore for a few days. And just because a house you liked dropped you, it's not the end of the world, because
5. In the end, you will find your forever home
