I've lived in southern Indiana for almost nine years now, and it has been there for me during the development of my caffeine addiction. The local coffee is one of its best kept secrets. Here are a few of my favorites places to get my caffeine fix, as well as my favorite drinks.
Kölkin Coffee
My all time-favorite coffee shop is Kölkin. Besides the amazing coffee, the interior is aesthetically pleasing (and perfect for your monthly coffee shop photo shoot). Based around kayaking, Kölkin is Danish for "river eddy," where for centuries kayakers would stop to rest. Kölkin wants to provide that same place of relaxation. It's an amazing place where I like to catch up with friends, especially when I'm home from college.
Favorite Drink(s):
Iced Islander w/ almond milk
Mango Matcha
Starlight Coffee Co. (Bean Street)
If you're looking for the stereotype local coffee shop, Bean Street is the place to go. The baristas are friendly, and you can count on them to know your usual order- down to the last extra shot poured over top.
Favorite Drink(s):
I usually switch up my iced latte order here. They have so many flavors to choose from, not even counting the seasonal ones!
Cherry Lemonade
Coffee Crossing
Coffee crossing is a great place to meet up with groups of friends. The setting is cozy and comfortable, and they have a menu that can cater to anybody- even the coffee critics.
Favorite Drink(s):
Criss Cross
Blended Matcha Frappuccino w/ almond milk
- I also like to ask for whipped cream, with matcha sprinkled on top (yes I know I'm extra)
If you try out any of these places, let me know what you think/what drinks you get!
