Why I Love Coffee So Much (+my favorite recipe)

If you know me, or maybe if you've just seen my social media, you know I love coffee. As I write this, I'm drinking a latte from my favorite local coffee shop. When I was a kid, I always loved the smell of coffee. My parents would always let me try theirs (drip coffee with a teaspoon of half and half), and I always hated it. Middle school rolls around, and my friends started coming into school drinking frappuccino's from McDonald's. I remember trying it and literally thinking 'wow this is so strong.' Lol. So that's where it started. It wasn't until towards the end of high school where I started to like what I guess you would call 'real coffee.' Senior year was the first time I tried aforementioned local coffee shop, and I fell in love. The first drink I tried is the same drink I've been getting ever since- what they call an 'Islander,' but what is actually an almond milk latte with vanilla and coconut syrups.
Besides the irresistible smell and addicting stimulant factor, there are many other reasons why I love coffee so much. The first and one of the biggest reasons for me is the social aspect. People just love to get together and have a coffee or go out to a coffee shop. Some of my best memories include going to get coffee. There's also something undeterminably aesthetic about sitting in a coffee shop and working, studying, or just simply hanging out.
One of my favorite traditions is before any concert we go to, my best friend Bri (go follow her blog) and I go to our local coffee shop before we hit the road. We'll go inside and order our coffees and have a little photoshoot inside. It's the little things that mean the most.
Another thing I love about coffee is the multitude of ways you can make it. You can tell a lot about a person based on how they take their coffee. I prefer iced lattes or cold brew, which brings me to my recipe:
Recently at home I've been using Emma Chamberlain's steeped coffee bags to make cold brew at home. I put three of her coffee bags in 600 mL of water and steep overnight. It usually lasts me about 4-5 days, depending on how much I drink. When the next morning rolls around, I fill up a mason jar with ice and fill it up halfway to three quarters of they way with the cold brew. Depending on what I'm feeling that day, I will either put a little bit of vanilla syrup in it and some oat milk, or I'll top it off with some sweet cream foam. Here's the recipe for that.

I prefer STARBUCKS white mocha with soy and 4 shots espresso! XD
